Ok, so, I just watched an awesome movie- the best movie I've seen in several years.
The Boat That Rocked.
Go borrow it. Go borrow it now. Here are some of the reasons why:
1. It has Nick Frost in it.
2. It has two of the stars of the IT crowd in it
3. It has Bill Nighy in it
4. The music director is Nick Angel- as in name sake of Hot Fuzzian Nicholas Angel- so we get to hear the Kinks, the Beach Boys, Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, etc, etc.
5. It features made-up families- you know the kind: teams that become families.
6. It is about a radio station broadcasting from a BOAT
7. It has eye candy in the form of a nervous, rather posh teenage boy
8. One of the main villains is called twat. Actually, it's a double T. Twatt.
9. There is a lot of homosexual innuendo in the BBC
10. I laughed out loud about once every two minutes
11. The music choices were *heavenly*
12. It was apparently filmed out of distilled awesome.
13. I was attached to every single character in this movie fifteen minutes after the I hit play. Even the bad guys.
Go borrow it, and watch it, and if you come back and say you don't like, I will give you back your hour and a bit of wasted time. I will also give you an exorcism and return you from the twisted hell dimension you originated from, because nobody human would dislike this movie.
I also suggest you use this as a way to whittle out friends who aren't awesome enough to hang out with you. Watch, and observe your friends. If at any point they seem bored, or after the movie say 'I don't get it', you must disown them as friends. This will help, as in this time of economic crisis, you cannot drag around the dead weight of people who lack either a soul or a sense of humour.
And now for something completely different: How adorable was Stephen breaking character during that cheating Death segment this week, huh? SO CUTE.
